  • Number of years working with the SOA:
    One
  • My role at the SOA involves:
Working as a liaison across departments in the development, design and execution of various marketing and communications projects.
  • One thing I wish that students and candidates knew about the SOA is:
How much mental capital goes into producing usable, relevant and important content for the profession’s betterment.
  • The best thing about being on the SOA campus visit team is:
Learning how students decide on a career and make the pivotal shift from being scholastically driven to being self-motivated, mission oriented members of a profession.
  • The question I get most often from students is:
What steps should I take while still in school to find employment quickly after graduation?
  • I consider a visit successful if:
Students feel any questions they may have about the profession and the credentialing process have been answered. Also, if questions remain, students know who to contact in order to obtain answers.
  • One tip I'd give candidates currently taking exams is:
Stay connected to the SOA on the policies and requirements of the exam and credentialing process.
  • One thing that every candidate should know about the profession is:
The global nature of the profession. The profession is filling global needs and answering important socio-economic questions, especially in the changing economic environment.
  • Anything else you’d like to tell candidates?
Best of luck in your educational and professional endeavors.
